Looking for Something to do?

In the past you have had to take a class to learn to Square Dance. If you are like me when you decide you want to try something you don't want to wait.

The Paradise Shufflers have adopted a new style of learning where you can join us at any time when the urge hits you to try Square Dancing.

We Dance every Sat. Evening from 6PM to 8 PM at the Pearl City Community Church 933 Lehua Ave. in Pearl City.

So how does this work? If we have new people they are taught the basics in three tips. A tip consists of a teaching session (Patter Call) and a Singing call (using the moves you have learned in a Song hopefully you enjoy which can be anything from Country to Rock and Roll with a good beat!)

We then have a Back to Back Tip for the Regular Club members. Then we have a break to socialize with the other dancers. Each dancing Tip lasts from 7 to 10 minutes depending on what is being taught. By the end of the evening the Second of the Back to Back tips is to get people who didn't make it on the floor a chance to dance. (Having Fun? We can run long!)

Since many Clubs have given half of their dancing night to Round Dancing. Dancers get as much or more Square Dance time during the dance.

Unlike other dances Square Dancing is the dance of imperfection (In my book) (although many Clubs strive for perfection!) It should be a dance that mixes people not create snob Squares who only want to dance with the best dancers (or their friends)
